I am probably the most amateur of astrophotographers, but I must admit that I am really enjoying the challenge of trying to capture what I see! As most astrophotographers suggest, I began experimenting with taking pictures of the moon. My next experiment involved trying to get pictures of sunspots. I have managed to get a few shots of Venus. I am always trying to add to this collection. Mercury and Saturn have presented me with a real challenge!  Jupiter and its moons are also in the extremely challenging category when using such simple techniques.

All of the pictures that you see so far on these pages have been taken by the simplest of methods. I hold my digital camera up to the eyepiece of the telescope, cross my fingers, and snap away! Some of the pictures were taken using my Meade ETX-70 telescope, while others, like the first four sunspots pictures, were taken through the Fayetteville State University telescope. I have recently been collecting links to some great astrophotography sites on the Web.

I hope that you will come back often, as I plan on updating these photo pages frequently!
